Aerohive – [wifi]: wl1: PHYTX error

[wifi]: wl1: PHYTX error Aerohive Access point

Saw following errors in Aerohive AP230. 5 GHz radio won’t serve clients. Reboot or changing channels which resets the wifi1 interfaces fixes the issue temporarily. Looks like the issue may have been resolved in 8.2r5. Will update.

UPDATE:Looks like upgrading to 8.2r5 is not fixing the issue. I just encountered this on a whole bunch of AP’s.

Update 05/20/2019 – Changed the code to 6.5r11 same results issue still not resolved. As soon as 25 to 30 clients get on the AP and are active it just starts to have really poor performance. Clients can’t even run a simple iperf locally. This is another message I have noticed, “kernel: [wifi]: wl1: 1 rx hlfifo overflows!. Rebooted the AP works for a bit and then back to the same issue. No luck from the support so far

    1. Sorry for the late reply, so after upgrading to 8.2r5 so far things have been stable. I actually ran into the same exact issue again today on AP230’s. Was testing with an iPad and it wouldn’t connect to AP’s and noticed clients were overloading some random AP’s. Working on upgrading that site as well now. Will post back the results.
