As part of the “What’s in a Box” series, introducing Arista’s AP-W318 (Hospitality, Wall-plate AP), Arista announced AP-W318 during the #MFD9 – Arista Presents. Always helpful knowing what all the different pieces come in the box when purchasing hardware. Take a look at the Arista AP-W318, What’s in a Box.

AP-W318 comes with a simple mounting bracket, screws, and anchors. Installing the mounting bracket was simple; slide the mounting bracket in the notches and tighten the screw.

Power:
AP can be powered on using 12V power brick or PoE 802.3bt for full functionality and 802.3at for reduced functionality.

Interfaces:
I am a little confused on the interfaces and will need to get more information on which interface is what. For now I’m assuming the following:
- 3 x 1 Gig on the bottom (1 x White and 2 x black)
- 1 x 1 Gig Uplink in the back (black)
- 2 x 2.5 Gig 1 on the side, one in the back?(Blue???)
- 1 x USB
- 1 x Console (Yellow)

Wi-Fi:
- 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz
- 2×2:2
- No dedicated WIPS.
- According to the DS, it is currently showing up “Pending” under Wi-Fi Alliance Certification
