Mobility Field Day 9 – Quick Recap

I had the privilege to attend the Mobility Field Day #9 hosted by Tom Hollingsworth. This was the second time I got invited to the Mobility Field Day event with more delegates and more vendors presenting, I was extremely excited for the invite and an opportunity to engage. Presenting Sponsors:

Juniper Networks, Fortinet, NetAlly, Ruckus Networks, Arista, Celona and Cisco were eager to present their updates and what’s to come.

MFD9 – Day 1 Presenters:

Juniper Networks was the very first presenters with Bob Friday, Sudheer Matta, Sunalini Sankhavaram, and Wes Purvis. Key announcements from Juniper-Mist

  • Cloud NAC (Access Assurance)
  • Marvis – Chat GPT integration and other AI features
  • New 6 GHz access point
  • Auto-Placement
  • Premium Analytics

Fortinet presented around converging Networking and Security, AP portfolio, accessories, FortiPresence, Guest and NAC by Chris Hinsz.

Alex Vizzari and Sumanth Gorajala provided updates on FortiAIOps and SASE Solution.

Delegate Round Table was the last Day 1 #MFD9 event. Topic: Challenges of Moving Services to the Cloud. Delegates discussed more and more services moving to the cloud and their impact and challenges. Is it a good idea, is it not or it depends. Watch the discussion and share your thoughts.

MFD9 – Day 2 Presenters:

Day 2 of mobility field day started with Cisco introducing and presenting their vision #CiscoWireless. Some key announcements from Cisco:

  • Cisco Wireless Strategy
  • AIOps
  • MDU/UDN+
  • New indoor AP

James Kahkoska (CTO) NetAlly was the second presentation. NetAlly CyberScope, Security, Network Visibility were the key topics discussed.

Ruckus Networks ended the MFD9 day 2 with Andrew Barnes, John Murphy, Rajiv Iyer, Saurabh Mathur and our very own Jim Palmer. Key topics were:

  • Ruckus Portfolio
  • New APs
  • Wi-Fi 7
  • AFC
  • IoT
  • Private 5G
  • Security

MFD9 – Day 3 Presenters:

Arista Networks started the day with their presentation. Arista presenters included Bhagya Prasad NR, Jatin Parekh, Karan Gupta, Kumar Narayanan, Robert Ferruolo, Sriram Venkiteswaran, Suparna Dam. Key topics presented were:

  • Arista Cognitive Campus
  • Agni
  • Root cause Analysis AIOps
  • UPSK – WPA3 (This certainly got our attention)
  • WIPS

Celona ended the day with 4G/5G Celona devices and how Celona solution has fixed real world solutions. Prince Jose, Puneet Shetty did an excellent job discussing some key features of the Celona Privat 4G/5G solution.

Summary:

It was an absolutely fun and amazing experience with multiple vendors and delegates from different part of the worlds.

Sincere thanks to Tom and Rachel for their hospitality and for the invitation.

I must admit I had better Malaysian food in California than I actually had in Malaysia. Last meal of the #MFD9 in a Malaysian restaurant was amazing.
