This is just a quick post to go over adding a license key to a Juniper EX Series switch. I recently had to update my two switches with some trial licenses and when I tried to use the following command I was having issues.
configure private
set system license keys key "License Key XXXX XXXX ......"First things first, when I received the license file it looked something like this.
You can’t just copy and paste this and expect it to work. First it needs to be formatted into one line:
Next I used the following command to add the license.
request system license add terminal
### Paste the license ####
Ctrl + D
After I received the “Successfully Installed” message I ran the following command to validate:
show system license
